We continue with Part 2 of my Q & A with IAmTheRain -Matador David, whose new album "Disastre Digital" 27 February appears:
8th A certain song from the new album, "Unknown Sympathy" sounds strongly of the old stuff Caotic genes. Is it a deliberate throwback to your old sound, or why the song was selected despite its harshness for "Disastre Digital"?
Good question! (laughs) I wrote the song with even the thought of the past, a lot of raw-sounding stuff Caotic genes. The challenge here for me was the sound again so get added as Caotic genes, so nice and dry, and above all so raw. That gave me even the old things like best, (laughs) from there: Yes, if you ask it is a deliberate throwback to older generations Caotic songs!
9th You have to work during the "Disastre Digital" mentioned several times the name Ryo Onuki and published a short time even a version of the new song "Gauge" with him. How is your collaboration?
Ryo is a long time, good friend and we have the same views when it comes to music. We have the same taste and drives us to the same indescribable energy ... When we make songs, it's as if our ideas flow into one another. I put his ideas to and he mine. You could say we are a garage-grunge rock and epic symbiosis. (laughs) Ryo is also an artist just like all artists with whom I work with you: unique in its own way.
10th Which songs on "Digital Disastre" are your personal favorites, and what songs would you like to play live?
All! They are all my favorites and I would like to play all live. (laughs)
11th Will we in future more electronic stuff like "What Does It Mean?" hear from you?
Possibly. I still love to experiment, So it may well be that I will again make an electronic song.
12th What is the future of IAmTheRain?
Well, it is that this album is of course at some point has to be done. I like it though, as it were, to empathize with the music that you write, once extensively themselves and to take time, but I'm not a fan of gridlock! So I can say that there are further IAmTheRain albums! But I can not say anything about when, with whom, etc. I am currently working with my regular band Rival Turf on the first album - and a milestone. Since, however, is still unpredictable because of when that will be ready and in which direction to go after is, I can not answer that question right now better.
13th What about the long-awaited debut album, Rival Turf? If it later this spring?
That band thing and as I can without the rest of the guys badly in this interview to make their comments.
14th How will it go to your view for the first time with Rival Turf, if your guitarist has Gordon left the band in February?
See above. (laughs)
Thanks David, very informative =) but thanks for the interview (here's going to Part 1), and who wants I should like to send his own questions to IAmTheRain, best by mail!
