Interview: IAmTheRain - Part 1

weekend I've sometimes caught by David IAmTheRain and asked him to upcoming album "Disastre Digital" . David was willing to provide information and here is Part 1 of its response: * * *

first How would you describe your current style of music and how has it compared to the early generation Caotic things developed?

Caotic Gene was a project in which I could still "virgin" act, could experiment without compromise, and could of course also give expression to my feelings stronger. The new-IAmTheRain things are "more mature" adult-oriented and determined. I would describe the style with a mix of Grunge, Nu-Metal and Indie Rock. Even progressive elements are clearly quite. My personal approach to music has never changed but, of course.

second As you see, "Disastre Digital" thematically and qualitatively compared with previous publications, especially the last album "The Backsnap Effect"?

I wish to emphasize that I with the new album intend, satisfy all fans. It is, despite all the drawbacks in terms of recording and mastering convince. And I think that I will succeed. The previous album, which was sort of a rough draft of the new album was, of course, more of an experimental album - in contrast to "Disastre Digital", which is more planned out exactly ... But you can generally say that all images that have been produced before this album, were more experimental.

third What changes were made to the new versions of previously released songs "Frozen", "Planetary Re-entry" and "Disaster Part 69"? The Album track list points to new versions.

All songs were again improved sound quality, as well as some texts with Ryo Onuki revised several times. I wanted to avoid that the album sounds as if it were created at different stages and recording sessions. It should sound like more of a piece.

4th Why is the also previously released singles "Empty Ahead of Them" and were "Parlez-vous Français?" taken from the album?

Because these songs have already appeared on the preliminary singles as I said in the future and I would rather play as an encore at gigs. They stood in the way the album concept, so they had to Go ...

5th The song "Better Than Life" should be discarded in the short term for "Disastre Digital", but is now on the track list. Please enlighten us on what is going on.

with this song I'm working yet. At the moment, I particularly about improving the mastering yet, and, above all, Ryo and I still work in progress so far on the vocals. Also, this song is very energetic and it is essential to the album, as I am sure that I would like to thank the fans are.

6th Singles from the album are planned, and if so, what songs are in question for you? Just the title of "Gauge" was already frequently ...

IAmTheRain - "What Does It Mean?"

IAmTheRain fans have to start the new year not so easy. Twice already, the new album "Digital Disastre" the rocker postponed, and now it was supposed to appear this weekend.

shame Yes, it is that is unfortunately nothing again, but I can assure you that the delays are solely the perfection of the album, which all previous IAmTheRain should surpass releases.

As a new date for the hotly anticipated album, we may now approach special scenes in the middle of February, and now there's even the cover (see top right), an extremely favorable IAmTheRain Promo T-Shirt with the cover artwork, a promotional video for "What Does It Mean?" two or three official singles to the album are expected to follow by the summer, I am typing this time on the cool "Gauge", which has already been announced as an advance single, and also postponed at short notice, the radio-friendly "Wonderful World" (the shortest track on the disc ) and the rocking "better than life".

Dir En Grey s new single, "Lotus" is once again leaked in advance and can be reviewed before the official release on Wednesday!

The title track is a massive mix of beautiful melodies and typically idiosyncratic parts like Kyo's doubled High-Pitch Chorus. I might get used "Lotus" rather must be the chorus, however.

offer the B-sides even a remake of the cult hit "Obscure," which is somewhat faster and more playful than the original, but can not replace it. It is also a big Live "Reiketsu Nariseba" of the party, and this song from last album, "Uroboros," is certainly among the absolute live-boards of the band. Yeah!

Short summary: "Lotus" is a good new song, but who have not the like, can also do without the rest.

I do not think it was a Joke of the Wachowskis, but it actually seems as if to prepare Keanu Reeves, currently in his signature role as Neo in two (!) Further matrix movies!

This is one of my personal favorites for an evening where you are supposed to retain at least a little dignity. The Sunrise doesn't hit you home, but rather sets the mood for many enjoyable conversations and laughs. It's a yummy delight for a light atmosphere, setting a nice base for some more intimate drinks later on to heighten the excitement.

A pretty perfect drink for any kind of evening, save for the dangerous fact that it's a pretty strong drink indeed! It instantly hypes you with the yummy lemon and whisky flavor, but it can damage you really bad if you don't keep an eye on yourself. But if you do, you'll easily score a nod of interest from the girls who likely want to nip...and have one for themselves.

Candidate #06  Cuba Libre

The perfect drink for a sunny sundown at the beach or anything related to the Caribbean. Also a really strong combination of strong rum, sugary coke, and heartburnin' lime. Don't take too much, or you'll suffer the consequences soon enough. Nevertheless, this is one of the more popular drinks with any sort of people, so go for it if you can.

Candidate #07  Caipirinha

A neat Caipirinha on a slow summer day is all you need to get the party rollin', but it's also a pretty decent drink for a harmless sit-in with your buddies, if you want to bring in a little island feeling. For those who don't like cachaça and love vodka instead there's always the variation Caipiroshka, which is an equally delightful mix of Caribbean taste and midnight swagger.

The Mojito is one of my less popular drinks, and I tend to avoid it wherever I can. Maybe it's just that I can't stand mint in a cocktail, but I also dislike the dry taste, just like with Gin Tonic. For some reason all the girls love it, though, so there's no harm in serving it, but if you have anything else, I'd rather opt for your alternative offers!

Candidate #09  Licor 43 & Milk

Contrary to Mojito, this one is one of my secret and guilty pleasures. A students' and girls' drink over here in Germany, its reputation doesn't really live up to its quality. The sweet vanilla milk mixture is light on alc by volume and delivers a really delightful taste. Scores easily with the girls, but be sure to choose the full-fat milk for full flavor!

Candidate #10  Razz & Sprite

This one pains me to see with only three and a half points awarded by...myself, but as much as I love this girls' drink with the totally gorgeous raspberry flavor, I admit the toll it takes on you after some drinks. The overwhelming sweetness may easily keep you from consuming too much Razz, but it's just so damn tasty – especially with Sprite. Sugarfest hooray!

I consider writing up a second part of this feature, because there are so many drinks left undiscussed yet, like the famous Cosmopolitan, the Tequila Gold vs Silver feud, the one and only Jägermeister, or the wondrous delights of absinth. And what about a stirred Martini? Or a Bloody Mary in the morning? So much undiscussed yet, so we'll see!
